Despite the violent eruption that destroyed Pompeii and also Herculaneum, many buildings have been preserved thanks to the natural conservation of ash and pumice. The Naples Cathedral is particularly important for the presence of the statue of the patron saint, San Gennaro, and for the treasure preserved in the church within a dedicated museum. Don't forget to taste the local culinary delights, such as pizza, recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, babà, sfogliatelle, authentic espresso coffee, and all the delights that the city offers.
