Of Greek origin, "flegraios" means burning. It is the land of volcanoes, one of the most unique and evocative. Explosive short-term activity, but violent and the continued presence of volcanoes fueled the imagination of the ancients, in fact, are the memories of the famous myths sung by Homer and Virgil and the Greek culture that from these shores radiated throughout Italy.
The Campi Flegrei are the volcanic region to the west of Naples, bounded by Posillipo hill, from Miseno and Cuma, to include the territories of Pozzuoli, Bacoli, Monte di Procida and Quarto, the islands of Ischia and Procida and Vivara islands and nisida.
The tour lasts a full day; You will visit the coastal lakes (Miseno or "Dead" Sea, Lucrino, Fusaro and Patria), the Averno, classic crater lake, mythologically considered the gate of Hell.
